What is a cookie?

Cookies are small text files sent by websites you visit to recognise you when you return. The files are stored on your computer hard drive
and read by your web browser.

How are cookies used?

Cookies perform several functions, such as remembering you on a particular site (your welcome message) and keeping you logged into
your account screen on an e-commerce site (NB always log out if you are using a public computer). In short, cookies provide statistics on
site visits as well as limited functionality to make your site visit easier. Properly used, cookies are an asset to a site visitor and a site owner.
They are not viruses, but some unscrupulous outfits will use them maliciously. We follow best practice for cookie use.

Opting out of cookies?

There are several ways to opt out of storing cookies. You can set your browser not to accept and store any cookies, or with more time
and knowledge you can allow only ‘trusted’ sites to store cookies on your computer. These sites could include us (of course!), your online
banking site or possibly your favourite news service.

Remember, if you delete all your cookies, you will probably have to re-enter your usernames and passwords on the sites you visit. As we
mentioned before, cookies can be a great asset to your web surfing experience.

Forum Members
We currently hold data about you such as your name, address, telephone number and an email address. We will retain these for the purposes of being a member such as formal notifications of meetings and stages in the development and subsequent deployment of the Neighbourhood Plan. We may also contact you with other updates relevant to the matters contained in the Plan. Non-members
If you wish to be kept up to date by being notified about progress with the Plan or related matters for our area, please contact us [using the contact button/by emailing us at email@pimlicoforum.org. If at any time you wish to opt-out, please contact us on the same email address.

We will never pass on your details to third parties unless they are contracted to us or are volunteers engaged on the above functions.
